Bishop Terrence W. Carr is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and a decorated military veteran who retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of faithful service in order to devote himself to full-time ministry. Throughout his world travels with the military Bishop Carr served in various ministries, functioning in whatever role was needed to advance the Kingdom of God where he was stationed. In June of 2001 he assumed the office of Senior Pastor of the then United Missionary Baptist Church.  Under Bishop Carr’s leadership the already strong and fruitful church began a season of expansion, spiritual growth, and change as God used him to transition the traditional church into a spirit-filled and spirit-led body of believers.  The name of the ministry was changed to United International Christian Faith Center to better reflect the flow, mission, and current vision of the ministry.  As one of the largest churches in Japan, United serves the US military and their dependents stationed in Okinawa, Japan and the local Japanese community.

Through the years United has become a beacon of hope and a Christian training ground in a country where only one percent of the population professes Christ as Lord.  Through Bishop Carr’s leadership United has done much for the Kingdom of God and accomplished many firsts on Okinawa, to include the procurement of a 24,000 square foot worship facility, the opening of a Christian Daycare and Academy, gospel music recording projects, gospel play productions, international television broadcasts, and active partnerships with the local community and Japanese ministries to name a few.

Bishop Carr has distinguished himself as a great mentor and leader; fathering, training and licensing over fifty ministers into the fivefold ministry. He has also distinguished himself as an outstanding preacher/teacher of God's Word, earning the respect of

the local and international Christian Community as he is often requested to minister at conferences, training seminars, special days and events. Under his leadership United has truly become a New Testament church, restructured to mirror the biblical model of an elder ruled, spirit-filled, and spirit-led church.

By his side in life and ministry is his wife of over twenty years, Deloris Carr, affectionately known as “Lady Dee”.  They have two children Tierra and Terrence II who also serve faithfully in ministry with their parents. Bishop Terrence W. Carr is truly a man on a mission to, “Impacting Lives, Equipping and Empowering the Body of Christ”.
